Subway Transport Operator

Background

Our client is a public sector transport operator. They own and operate a subway system, an underground metro transport system providing high-volume service to the city centre from various city areas.

The subway system had become life expired, and our client developed a business case to replace a wide range of equipment, and to carry out a general upgrade of the system. Our client contracted us to lead on the procurement of the new rolling stock, signalling, Platform Screen Doors and new Operational Control Centre, as well as to provide Client Technical Advice throughout the procurement process, project management and ongoing support.

Ten Live Rail Scope

Ten Live Rail were responsible for a wide range of activities within the procurement exercise. This was an extremely complicated procurement, as various technical elements and systems were being bought as a fully integrated system, which created various technical, safety, commercial and legal documentation challenges. This was a wide-ranging scope of supply over 3 years, from initial specification development, through early supplier engagement, and continuous support. Ten Live Rail deployed a range of internal staff supported by external discipline experts where required and contract staff.

Attraction, Source and Supply Skills

Permanent and contract recruitment and resource management services provided, sourcing, contracting and supplying specialist project management, technical, planning & estimating, engineering, risk, design & architect services, commercial managers, health & safety, environment & quality, building & trades, PICOSS, signaling, design, engineers & managers,(telecoms) testers installers & Track, OTP Operators, train drivers, route conductors & other on-train staff , plant operators, trades (including bricklayers, carpenters, electricians, painters, plasterers), secretarial, HR, Finance, information management, executive search & selection, Six Sigma. All railway contracting operational staff supplied are trained, certified, CSCS, drug & Alcohol Tested and managed through our ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 performance and competency matrix.
