Did you head to Railtex last week?
Ten Live were looking forward to Railtex last week, the UK’s “all-encompassing showcase for technological innovations across the entire rail supply market” from the 9th to 11th May at the NEC in Birmingham.
With more than 10,000 rail professionals, 460 suppliers expected and thousands of products on show over 3 days in one place, Railtex was the place to be this May if you’re at all involved in the rail supply market in the UK or internationally!
Railtex provides “an unequalled opportunity in the UK for companies serving all aspects of the infrastructure and rolling stock sectors to present their capabilities and meet their customers” and “has long been established as Britain’s leading showcase for railway equipment, products and services, with a strong reputation for attracting visiting managers, engineers and buyers at the highest level”.
Since 1993, Railtex has been the major networking rail industry event for suppliers of all aspects of the rail industry to showcase their products and services in front of managers, engineers and buyers and this year the exhibition is anticipated to be busier than ever.
The UK’s rail network is currently undergoing unprecedented levels of investment in railway infrastructure and rolling stock fleets providing major business opportunities throughout the rail supply chain;
- HS2 high-speed line
- Crossrail and extensive upgrading of the existing system
- Electrification of main lines
- Modernisation of signalling systems
- Procurement of new rolling stock to handle ever increasing passenger numbers
- Transport for London also represents a key market with new trains being acquired, extension of the Northern Line of the Underground and a growing role in the management of the city’s suburban lines
- The proposed HS3 line linking cities in northern England and Crossrail 2 in London
As well as showcasing the latest innovations from the rail industry’s supply chain, Railtex also offers “great opportunities for gaining a better understanding of trends in rail policy and technology”.
We’re looking forward to hearing more about all the latest rail developments and opportunities!
