What Is The ‘Colleges of Excellence’ Programme Saudi Arabia?

• The Colleges of Excellence Programme was set up in 2013 by the Saudi government with 10 vocational-technical training colleges and 4,000 students
• The Programme aims to improve the quality of technical and vocational education training in Saudi Arabia. It will deliver (TVET) courses to young people in Saudi Arabia to meet the demands of the local job market and the government’s economic and employment diversification efforts
• 2018-2019 – the Colleges of Excellence Programme plans to increase the intake of students under the Saudi government’s strategic development plan, Vision 2030 – from 42,000 students in 2018 (10% of high school graduates) to more than 200,000 students (40%-45% of high school graduates)
• Plans include 7 new contracts as well as the possible retendering of the 31 current college contracts in;
