Ten Live’s chosen charity in 2018 is Maggie’s Glasgow ‘Founding 1000’ business campaign.

Ten Live is very proud to be a Maggie’s Glasgow ‘Founding 1000’ supporting business, donating £1000 through our 2018 Fundraising Dressdown Fridays.

Each year Ten Live nominate a charity and fundraise throughout the year for that charity via our Dressdown Fridays

In 2018 Ten Live raised an incredible £1000 for Maggie’s Glasgow, ‘Founding 1000’ business campaign to help provide support people from the West of Scotland with expert cancer care

What’s also wonderful is that the Postcode Lottery will match this figure, bringing Ten Live’s total donation for Maggie’s Glasgow ‘Founding 1000’ business campaign to £2000!

“Over the past year we have seen first-hand some of the amazing work done by Maggie’s Glasgow  and have come to know some of the fundraisers. We have seen how hard it is to raise the necessary funds to keep these vital facilities open. The Centre staff do so much to support people with cancer and their families and friends to cope by providing such a warm and welcoming place for them to meet, chat and enjoy life”.

Maggie’s Glasgow ‘Founding1000’ business campaign was launched in 2018 to help raise £1m  to provide the thousands of people across the West of Scotland living with cancer with specialist cancer care from Maggie’s. Maggie’s Glasgow are asking 1000 businesses to donate or raise £1000 in 2018/2019 in their ‘Founding 1000’ business campaign.

As a Maggie’s Glasgow ‘Founding 1000’ business supporter, the £1000  raised by the Ten Live team in 2018 will provide  a person in the West of Cancer living with cancer with a cancer support package consisting of;

• 8 sessions with a cancer support specialist to help people find answers to difficult questions
• 4 sessions with a psychologist to help find ways to live with uncertainty post treatment
• 4 sessions with a benefits advisor to help access financial support
• 4 managing less stress sessions to find calm in the chaos of cancer
• 6 nutrition sessions to help live and eat better with cancer
• 4 light exercise sessions to help rebuild confidence and strength

• Joining ‘Founding 1000’ and supporting a cancer care package for someone in need
